ABSTRACT
Terahertz technology offers unique capabilities for contactless and non-destructive inspection of non-metallic materials such as composites, polymers, coatings, and multilayer structures.
This seminar introduces the fundamentals of terahertz NDT and compares different terahertz systems with a focus on industrial inspection. Practical examples will illustrate applications in layer thickness measurement, defect detection, material characterization, and process monitoring. Participants will gain an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of terahertz NDT.
About the speaker
Dr.-Ing. Soufiene Kerimi is the Founder and CTO of Innotech Photonics GmbH, developing reliable, industry-ready terahertz solutions for advanced NDT and industrial inspection.
He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from RPTU Kaiserslautern, Germany, focused on terahertz-based thickness measurement of thin multilayer structures. He worked as a research associate at the University of Kaiserslautern before joining Daimler Truck and Buses in research and development.
His current work focuses on bringing terahertz sensor technologies into practical industrial applications.
