Strengthening Expertise in Composite Pipeline Quality Control
ENERCOMP team members visited the FPI facilities in Dhahran.
ENERCOMP continues to advance applied expertise in composite pipeline systems through targeted professional development and industry collaboration. Following the successful completion of an intensive, hands-on training program on quality control inspection of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) pipes and joints, Dr. Ahmed Wagih, Dr. Hassan Ejaz, and Ms. Caroline Chaix have obtained certification as a QC Inspector for FRP pipes and joints.
This achievement builds on prior specialized training in GFRP pipe installation, completing a comprehensive learning cycle that spans the full pipeline lifecycle, from design and installation to inspection and quality assurance. The integrated perspective gained through this process enhances the ability to address real-world operational challenges while reinforcing the link between scientific research and industrial practice.
The newly acquired inspection expertise directly supports ongoing research activities focused on pipe joint integrity and reliability. By combining academic insight with practical, field-based experience, this milestone contributes to the development of innovative and robust solutions for composite pipeline systems, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
ENERCOMP acknowledges the valuable collaboration that made this achievement possible and extends appreciation to Future Pipe Industries for their technical support, knowledge sharing, and commitment to professional excellence. Initiatives such as this reflect ENERCOMP’s mission to foster industry-relevant competencies and strengthen the performance and reliability of composite assets in energy applications.
