About the speaker

Jonathan Butt is Chief Engineer for Digital Engineering in the civil sectors at NCC, where he leads the delivery of digital solutions for engineering & manufacturing. He has played a key role in growing NCC’s digital capability from its early foundations into a multi‑million‑pound portfolio of industrial projects.

His work focuses on applying technologies such as AI, digital twins, IoT, and robotics to real industrial challenges. He has led complex R&D programmes, turning emerging technology into practical, deployable solutions.

Jonathan also contributes to national initiatives on digital adoption in manufacturing, working with government, funding bodies, and industry groups to help shape how these technologies are implemented in practice.

He is particularly interested in bridging the gap between innovation and adoption, ensuring that advanced technologies are not only technically robust, but also deliver clear, practical value to industry.
