ENERCOMP Seminar Series

Structural Health Monitoring employing advanced Printed Sensors

Thursday, September 18th, 2025

ABSTRACT

This talk will present research on printed sensors for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) applications. Adaptable and cost-effective solutions are being developed, utilizing adaptive designs and advanced printing methods to detect critical structural issues like cracks and delaminations. The presentation will cover the integration of these flexible sensors onto various structural surfaces, offering a scalable approach to health monitoring. Key experimental findings will be shared, highlighting the sensors' sensitivity and reliability in practical applications. This work aims to contribute to more efficient and accessible structural integrity assessments, with potential applications across diverse sectors such as aerospace, civil infrastructure, and wind energy.
